At the Piazzetta del Fondo<\/strong>, in the basement of the building where the restaurant “Cantina del Fondo”<\/strong> is located, there is a well<\/strong> to which a fascinating legend is linked.<\/p>\n

It’s a story handed down by Mario Caponi and has as protagonist Lucida Saminiati<\/strong>, a woman lived at the beginning of the eighteenth century in that building.<\/p>\n

It seems that Lucida<\/strong> was endowed with an extraordinary beauty<\/strong> that surely must have stirred the hearts of many fellow citizens of the time. The story goes that she married twice after remaining a widow while still young.<\/p>\n

But what makes this story legendary is the fact that Lucida was so beautiful and obsessed with it<\/strong>. According to legends she had covered the walls and ceiling of his room with mirrors to be able to admire herself at all times, just like a Diva<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"Well<\/p>\n

Unable to bear the idea of losing his precious beauty, she decided to sell her soul to the Devil<\/strong> in exchange for thirty years to spend without growing old, and so it remained for thirty years in the flower of his graces. But then the Devil presented her the bill to pay and the beautiful tale ends sadly: the Diva Lucida<\/strong> sank into a chasm towards Hell, in the exact place where that well is located today.<\/p>\n

Over time, his story has provoked many suggestions and this is why the legend continued with imaginative tales of ghostly apparitions of the Diva Lucida with the appearance of a white lady on a chariot of fire.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
