When a couple decides to get married, there are 2 crucial moments: choosing the date, the type of wedding and the location for the ceremony. When I think of the characteristics of San Miniato, one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Tuscany, I realize that it answers all the questions of the spouses…
Here are the 4 most common:
1.
“I am looking for a place that allows me to take nice pictures without taking the car again”
San Miniato offers wonderful views like Piazza del Seminario with its frescoed facade, the stairs leading to the Hotel Miravalle with the view over the roofs of the houses, Piazza del Duomo, the lawn of the Rocca tower… We recommend the couple to get married in the early afternoon because the glimpses that San Miniato offers are so many that you have to limit the shots, and you’ll see that your wedding in Tuscany will be unforgettable!
2.
“I would like to get married with the civil ceremony but the halls of the Town Halls are not so beautiful”
Sala delle 7 Virtù is the room designated for the celebration of weddings in the Municipality of San Miniato and it’s a real gem. It has frescoed walls, a beautiful light, 70 seats with modern and “neutral” chairs and music system. The room is accessible both with stairs and with an elevator, and has a “right” size: not too large to maintain the intimate dimension of the rite but spacious enough “for the triumphal entry”.
3.
“I am looking for an imposing Church”
The Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and San Genesio, also known as the The Cathedral of San Miniato, is one of the most majestic churches I have ever seen. It allows you to arrive in front of the Church by car (better if it’s a vintage car), it has a nave with a wonderful black and white checkered floor, a very large altar with space for witnesses and bridesmaids and a functioning organ with a possible local choir. On the square it is possible to organize a toast with view after the ceremony.
4.
“The best season is spring but for work I have to get married in another month”
To celebrate your wedding, San Miniato is wonderful all year round, as is Tuscany! In spring the gardens are in bloom while in summer sunsets are a unique sight. In autumn it’s recommended to get married in the morning and then take a walk among the stalls of the “San Miniato White Truffle National Exhibition” for a great collective applause and for a truffle-based aperitif. During winter, however, if you are lucky enough to find snow, you will have unique photos!
